IRVINE, Calif. --- Junior guard James Noble, a reserve shooter, scored 22 points in his season high Friday night to lead Life Pacific College in their match with UC Irvine, 43-101, in a non-conference exhibition game at the Bren Events Center.
Noble hit 9 of 18 shots, including 4 of 6 threes, Noble performed excellently last night shooting more than half of the points for the Warriors.
Senior wing Blake Terry scored 9 points and gave 3 assists and 1 rebound. He hit 4 of his 11 field-goal attempts and added 1 three pointer.
Life Pacific took an early 7-4 lead on a three by Blake Terry with 16:01 left in the first half before the 'Eaters went on a 22-2 run over the next 5 ½ minutes, capped by a three from Nelson at the 9:59 mark, to go up 26-9.
UCI, which led 48-16 at halftime, shot 57 percent from the field in the game, hitting 15 of 33 threes. Life Pacific shot 29.8 percent for the contest as the Anteaters have won 62 of their last 69 games when holding the opposition to under 40 percent from the floor.
The 'Eaters' bench outscored Life Pacific's reserves, 59-27, and UCI had a 34-12 advantage in the paint.
The game was regular for the Anteaters, who become 7-9 on the season. UCI, based in Irvine, is a member of the National College Athletic Association. They currently performed the D1 level and attest to the challenging teams that the Warriors have faced.
"They are really good, very big team and they are physical , we have built our competitive spirit through the toughest schedule in the country for small college. We now must use that at our level," Head Coach Tim Cook stated.
The Warriors come home today to host Embry-Riddle at 2:00pm.
