SAN DIMAS, Calif. - Life Pacific College announced that the LPC Warrior Men's Basketball Team has advanced to the National Tournament. This week, LPC's Athletic Director, Tim Cook received notice from NCCAA DI Men's Basketball National Chair, Brad Briscoe, "Congratulations to you and Life Pacific College on advancing to the 2017 NCCAA DI Men's Basketball Championship as the West Region Champions!"
Life Pacific Men's Basketball was ranked 6th in the Nation for the week of Feb. 13 and now qualify for the National Tournament, March 15-18, hosted in Indiana.
"Hard to believe - but in just its second year returning to intercollegiate competition, LPC Warriors Men's Basketball will compete in the NCCAA Division 1 National Championship in Winona Lake, Indiana," says President Jim J. Adams, "We are dreaming boldly for our remarkable team, and pray for the very best as they compete for the top spot in small faith-based college basketball."
Athletic Director and Coach, Tim Cook, states, "LPC Men's Basketball bought in, went to work on and off the court, and ultimately found incredible success." He explains, " LPC also holds the number one power rating due to the strength of schedule and quality wins. We are extremely excited to accept a bid to the NCCAA National Championships in Indiana. I want to thank my magnificent assistant coaches, trainer, staff, LPC students, and administration for making this an unforgettable season."
The Warriors currently have 24 points from their 16 wins over the season with a victorious winning streak of 11 games from December - February. The NCCAA releases weekly standings for 69 Division 1 Christian Colleges across the nation. The NCCAA Top 10 Rankings are developed by the National Sports Chair and Regional Sports Chairs who represent each region. Regional Sports Chairs develop a ranking for their region.
