Winona Lake, IN - The Life Pacific Warriors placed 7th in the NCCAA National Tournament held in Winona Lake, IN. The Warriors beat Hiwassee College Tigers 92-86. One of the best performances of the season and Life Pacific reaches a 20-9 record.
The National Christian College Athletic Association consists of 96 competing schools across the nation.
The Warriors entered the Tournament at the number 7 seed. They started the Tournament on Wednesday, March 15 versus Emmanuel College (65-71) and played their second match with Dallas Baptist (72-83). The final game was played against Hiwassee College for the 7th position in the National Tournament.
Half 1 - Hiwassee College took the immediate lead, but the Warriors kept the distance under 8 points. Ramez Michail (JR/Anaheim, CA), Blake Terry (SR/Modesto, CA), Mark Eden (JR/Chino, CA), Edgardo Campos (JR/Covina, CA), and Juaquin Zavala (JR/Paramount, CA) made sure they were always on the Tigers tail. A 2 PTR by Trent Rowser (JR/Pomona, CA) put the Warriors ahead, but the tigers came out to tie. The Warriors fought for a single digit distance with the Tigers. The Warriors ended the first half with Blake "Buzzer Beater" Terry shooting a three. The Warriors shot (11-33) from the field and (7-8) from the free throw line. They also stole the ball 4 times in the first half.
Half - 2 The half started with the Tiger leading by 9 at 45-36. Blake Terry, Edgardo Campos, and Ramez Michail brought that distance to a tie in a mere 6 minutes. It was a constant battle thereafter. For 5 minutes the Warriors and Tigers fought for the lead continually. Alas, hope arose when the Warrior Edgardo Campos shot a 2 Ptr giving the Warriors a 2 point edge on the Tigers. This was all that was needed for a momentous breakaway. The Warriors soon were leading by 8 points (77-69) with 6:04 on the clock. In a miraculous play, Ramez sent the ball flying for Trent Rowser's beautiful alleyoop. Rowser's Dunk gave the Warriors that this game would be theirs for the taking. The final moments came down to Ramez Michail, Trent Rowser, and Blake Terry all shooting free throws to create a distance of 7 points from the Tigers. At the buzzer's sound, the Life Pacific Warriors won over the Hiwassee College Tigers 92-86.
